Germ Busters
Learn why we wash our hands by seeing how glitter 'germs' spread everywhere.
Category: Math & Science · Duration: ~10 min
Materials
- glitter
- soap
- water
1. Sprinkle a little glitter on your little one's hands. These are pretend germs! 2. Have them touch a doorknob, a toy, your hand. Look at how the glitter spread everywhere. 3. Now wash hands with soap and water. Watch the glitter disappear. 4. Talk about how real germs are tiny — too small to see — but soap washes them away. 5. Make a rule: we always wash before eating and after using the bathroom.
