Materials

1. Set out crayons, colored pencils, and any other drawing tools you have. 2. Divide the paper into sections — one for each tool. 3. Have your little one draw the same thing (a sun, a flower, a face) with each tool. 4. Talk about the differences: "The crayon is thick and waxy. The pencil makes thin, light lines." 5. Ask which one they like best and why.
