Color Mixing Lab

Mix two paint colors together and discover what new color appears.

Materials

• washable paint (red, blue, yellow)
• paper plate
• paintbrush

1. Put a blob of red, blue, and yellow paint on a paper plate — space them apart. 2. Ask your little one: "What happens if we mix red and yellow?" Let them guess. 3. Use the brush to swirl them together. "Orange! We made orange!" 4. Try blue + yellow (green) and red + blue (purple). 5. Let them mix freely after that and name every new color they make.
