Watch how the coffee maker works — water goes in clear, coffee comes out brown.

Materials

1. Show your little one the coffee maker. Pour water in together — "See? It's clear." 2. Show them the coffee grounds. Let them smell it (most kids make a great face). 3. Turn it on and watch together. "The hot water drips through the brown stuff and picks up the flavor." 4. When it's done, show the coffee. "Clear water went in, brown coffee came out!" 5. They don't drink it — but they can smell the difference between the grounds and the drink.
