Picking Up After Yourself

When you finish playing, put every toy back where it lives before starting something new.

1. Before starting a new activity, look at the room together. 2. "Everything has a home. Let's put things back where they live." 3. Point to items: "Where does this go?" Blocks in the bin. Books on the shelf. Crayons in the box. 4. Work together. Race if it helps: "Let's pick up ten things before I count to twenty!" 5. Make the rule: "We clean up one thing before we start the next."
