Green-Eyed Monster
Your child names a jealous feeling out loud and picks one thing THEY have that's great.
Category: Emotional Growth · Duration: ~6 min
1. Talk about a time you felt jealous: "My friend got a new bike and I wished I had one too. That yucky feeling is called jealousy." 2. Ask, "Have you ever felt that way? When someone had something you wanted?" 3. Normalize it: "Everyone feels jealous sometimes. It doesn't make you bad." 4. Then shift: "When I feel jealous, I think of one thing I have that's great. Can you think of one?" 5. Practice: name the jealousy, then name something good you have. Both can be true at the same time.
