Laundry Helper

Sort dirty clothes into lights and darks, then help load the washing machine.

Materials

• laundry basket

1. Dump the laundry basket on the floor. "Let's sort!" 2. Show them: "Light colors go in this pile, dark colors go in that pile." 3. Hold up each item and let them decide: "Light or dark?" Help with tricky ones. 4. Together, load one pile into the machine. Let them push items in. 5. If age-appropriate, let them press the start button. "The washing machine does the hard part now!"
