Ride Along

Practice riding a tricycle, scooter, or balance bike — start slow on flat ground.

Materials

1. Helmet on first — always. Make it non-negotiable and normal. 2. For tricycles: "Feet on the pedals, push one at a time." Hold the back at first. 3. For scooters: "One foot on, one foot pushes." Start on flat, smooth ground. 4. Stay close but let go when they're steady. They need to feel the balance themselves. 5. Fall will happen. Keep it light: "Oops! You okay? Let's go again."
