Snip Snip
Practice cutting paper with kid-safe scissors along simple lines
Category: Motor Skills · Duration: ~5 min
Materials
- kid-safe scissors
- paper
1. Give your little one blunt-tip scissors and show them how to hold them — thumb on top, fingers through the bottom. 2. Draw a thick straight line across a piece of paper. "Can you cut along the line?" 3. Let them snip freely — messy cuts are totally fine! The goal is open-close coordination. 4. Once they get the hang of it, try a wavy or zigzag line.
Tip
Left-handed kids need left-handed scissors — the blades are reversed so they can see the cutting line.
