Win Some, Lose Some

Play a simple game and practice being a good winner and a good loser.

1. Play a quick game — race to the mailbox, rock-paper-scissors, or a card flip. Something with a clear winner. 2. When you win, model it: "I won! That was fun. Good game, buddy." High five. 3. When they win, celebrate with them. When they lose, name the feeling: "It's okay to feel bummed. Losing is no fun." 4. Remind them: "We can always play again. The more we practice, the better we get." 5. End with a hug no matter who won.
