Lonely to Lovely

Your child names what loneliness feels like and picks one thing to do when they feel alone.

Category: Emotional Growth · Duration: ~7 min

1. Ask gently, "Do you ever feel lonely? What does that feel like?" No rush — let them think. 2. Normalize it: "Everyone feels lonely sometimes, even grown-ups. Even me." 3. Brainstorm a "lonely plan" together: things they can do when they feel alone. Hug a stuffed animal, draw a picture for someone, find you for a cuddle. 4. Write or draw three ideas on a piece of paper. Call it the "Lonely Plan." 5. Say, "Lonely is a feeling, and it always passes. But now you have a plan for when it visits."
