Trace and Race
Your child traces big letters with their finger, then with a crayon, racing to finish before a silly countdown.
Category: Literacy · Duration: ~8 min
Materials
- paper
- thick crayon or marker
1. Write three big letters on a piece of paper — try A, B, and S to start. 2. Have your little one trace each letter with their finger first. Say the letter name as they trace. 3. Now give them a crayon and let them trace over your letters. Wobbly lines are great. 4. For the "race" part — count down slowly from 10 while they trace. Make the countdown dramatic and silly. 5. Celebrate: "You traced three letters! Your fingers are getting so strong."
