Make your own sandwich by picking and spreading each ingredient yourself

• spreads
• toppings
• butter knife

1. Set out 3-4 toppings and a butter knife. Let your child choose what goes on. 2. Show them how to spread with the knife — this is tricky and messy. That's fine. 3. Let them stack it up: "What goes first? What goes on top?" 4. Cut it in half together. They eat what they made — that's the reward.
