Disaster Ready
Talk about earthquakes or big storms — practice your family's safety plan.
Category: World Knowledge · Duration: ~7 min
1. Keep it calm and matter-of-fact: "Sometimes nature does really big things — big storms, shaking ground." 2. Pick the most relevant one for your area (earthquake, tornado, hurricane). 3. Practice what to do: for earthquakes, get under a table and hold on. For tornadoes, go to the lowest room. 4. Walk through it together like a drill: "Okay, pretend — let's go!" 5. Reassure: "These are rare, but it's good to practice so we know what to do, just like a fire drill at school."
