Rhyme Time Walk

Your child spots things on a walk or around the house and finds words that rhyme with them.

Category: Literacy · Duration: ~8 min

1. Point to something — a chair. Ask your little one, "What rhymes with chair?" Bear! Hair! Fair! 2. Walk to the next thing. A door? Floor! More! Roar! 3. If they get stuck, give them the first sound: "It starts with /b/... bear!" Let them finish. 4. Silly made-up words count! If they say 'floog' rhymes with 'rug,' cheer for it. 5. Aim for five objects. Finish with a rhyming high-five chant: "We rhyme all the TIME!"
