Materials

1. Set up a plate with something soft — a banana, a pancake, or cooked pasta. 2. Show your little one: "Fork in this hand holds it still. Knife in this hand saws back and forth." 3. Demonstrate once slowly, then hand them the utensils. 4. Let them try. It'll be messy and uneven — that's perfect. The motion is what matters. 5. Cheer each piece they cut: "You did that all by yourself!"
