Name It, Write It
Your child practices writing their own name, one letter at a time, in big bold strokes.
Category: Literacy · Duration: ~8 min
Materials
- paper
- thick crayon or marker
1. Write your little one's name in big letters across the top of the paper. Say each letter as you write it. 2. Point to the first letter. "This is the first letter of YOUR name. Let's try it!" Guide their hand if needed. 3. Let them try each letter underneath yours. Wobbly is perfect — this isn't about neat handwriting. 4. When the full name is done, have them point to each letter and say it with you. 5. Hang it on the fridge. "That says YOUR name. You wrote that!"
