Splash Lab

Play with water in a bin and see what splashing, pouring, and stirring do.

Materials

• plastic bin or large bowl
• water
• cups
• spoons

1. Fill a plastic bin or big bowl with a few inches of water. Set it on the floor (on a towel). 2. Hand your little one cups, spoons, and small containers. "What happens when you pour from high up?" 3. Let them splash, stir, dump, and pour. No agenda — just exploring. 4. Drop in a few small objects: a cork, a coin, a leaf. "Which ones float? Which ones sink?" 5. When they're done, let them help pour the water out. Getting wet is part of the deal.
