Sort It Out

Grab a handful of mixed objects and sort them into groups by color, size, or type.

Category: Math & Science · Duration: ~7 min

1. Grab a random mix of small things — socks, toys, crayons, snack crackers, buttons, anything. 2. Dump them in a pile. "Can you put the same things together?" 3. Let your little one decide how to group them. They might sort by color, by size, by type — any rule works. 4. Ask: "Why did you put those together?" Hear their logic. 5. Mix them up and try a different rule: "Now sort by size — big ones here, small ones there."
