Little Climber

Practice climbing up and down something low — a play structure, couch, or sturdy chair.

Category: Motor Skills · Duration: ~8 min

1. Find something safe to climb — playground equipment, a low retaining wall, or couch cushions stacked up. 2. Stay close. Spot them but let them figure out hand and foot placement: "Where will you put your foot next?" 3. Climbing DOWN is the hard part. Guide them: "Turn around so your tummy faces the wall. Feet go first." 4. Cheer the effort, not just the top: "Look at you figuring that out!" 5. Let them repeat the same climb several times — repetition builds confidence.
