Story Builders

Your child picks three random objects, and together you make up a wild story about them.

Category: Literacy · Duration: ~10 min

1. Ask your little one to grab three random things from around the room — a spoon, a stuffed bear, a shoe, whatever catches their eye. 2. Start the story: "Once upon a time, a bear found a magical spoon..." Then stop and ask, "What happened next?" 3. Take turns adding one sentence at a time. Follow their lead, even if the plot goes bananas. 4. When the story feels done, ask, "How does it end?" Let them wrap it up. 5. Recap together: "Remember when the bear flew to the moon in a shoe? That was YOUR idea!"
