Storm Talk

Talk about thunder and lightning so they feel less scary and more amazing.

Category: Math & Science · Duration: ~5 min

1. During or before a storm, sit together somewhere cozy. 2. Explain that thunder is just a loud sound the sky makes — like a big drum. 3. Lightning is a bright flash, like a giant camera. It's far away and we're safe inside. 4. Count together after a flash: one-Mississippi, two-Mississippi — each count means the storm is one mile away. 5. Remind your little one: it's okay to feel nervous. The storm always passes.
