Balanced Plate

Draw a plate on paper and fill it with pictures of foods from each group — protein, fruit, veggies, grains.

Materials

1. Draw a big circle on paper — this is our plate. Divide it into four sections. 2. Label or color-code them: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein. 3. Ask your little one to draw (or name) foods for each section. 4. Talk about how our body needs a little of everything to be strong and healthy. 5. At the next meal, point out which parts of the plate you've covered.
