Sound Spy

Your child listens to a sound you make — /b/ — and races to find something nearby that starts with it.

Category: Literacy · Duration: ~7 min

1. Say a letter sound (not the letter name): "/b/" — the sound at the start of "ball." 2. "Sound spy mission: find something that starts with /b/!" Your little one looks around and grabs or points to something. 3. Book! Blanket! Button! Cheer for every correct answer. 4. If they pick something wrong, say the word slowly together: "Lamp... /l/... that starts with /l/! Good try though." 5. Do five rounds with different sounds. Let them pick the sound for the last round and YOU search.
