Use stencils or trace objects around the house to make shapes on paper.

1. Gather a few flat objects — a cup lid, a cookie cutter, a block, a leaf. 2. Place the object on the paper and show your little one how to hold it steady with one hand. 3. Trace around it slowly with a pencil. Let them try the next one. 4. Once traced, they can color in the shapes or guess what made each outline.
