Oh Well
Your child practices shrugging and saying 'oh well' when something small doesn't go their way.
Category: Emotional Growth · Duration: ~5 min
1. Teach the "oh well" shrug: shoulders up, palms out, say "Oh well!" with a little smile. 2. Practice with small pretend disappointments: "We're out of your favorite cereal — oh well!" "It's raining so no park — oh well!" 3. Do it together at least five times. Make it silly and light. 4. Explain: "Oh well doesn't mean you're not sad. It means you won't let it ruin your day." 5. Use it for real throughout the week when small things go sideways.
