Stop and Go

Play a stop-and-go game — move when you hear GO and freeze when you hear STOP.

1. Stand in an open space. "When I say GO, you move. When I say STOP, you freeze. Ready?" 2. Start with just walking. "GO!" Let them walk. "STOP!" Freeze. 3. Speed it up. Alternate faster. Throw in tricky pauses. 4. Add other opposites: "LOUD — stomp your feet! QUIET — tiptoe!" "FAST — run! SLOW — slow motion!" 5. Let your little one be the caller. They'll love bossing you around.
